By Lilia Guan | Monday | 21/11/2005

Anyware Computer Accessories has released a digital TV tuner the size of a thumb.

The Compro Technology VideoMate U3 DVB-T Digital TV tuner can be plugged into a desktop PC or laptop for free-to-air digital terrestrial TV. The U3 uses USB 2.0 transmission to provide 1080i HDTV and SDTV reception on a PC. It also provides EPG and Teletext features.

The U3 is bundled with ComproDTV software, which will allow users to watch digital TV, set flexible scheduled recording in MPEG-2 format, playback recorded files, timeshift live TV, channel surf and capture still frames. This software also supports new features to allow users to customise brightness, hue, saturation, contrast and sharpness. ComproDVD 2 and Ulead PhotoExplorer 8.5 SE software also gives consumers the ability to watch DVDs and manage multimedia files.

The VideoMate U3 will be available for purchase in Australia from December 2005 and will retail for $139.00.
