  One-Stop Shop Emergency Battery Recharger

By Mike Wheeler | Tuesday | 03/06/2008

Just 2-inches long, Uniross’new emergency recharger can charge any 2AA or 2AAA rechargeable batteries from a computer or laptop USB port, a USB car adaptor, or USB power adaptor.

The 2-way unit can also charge with any 2AA batteries a range of electronic equipment, from mobile phones and MP3 players to gaming consoles and personal organisers.

"People no longer have to rely on recharging their mobile phones, digital cameras and MP3 players from a conventional recharger," said Will Vautier, Marketing Manager of Uniross Australia. "They can put 2 Hybrio AA batteries…in the emergency charger and simply plug it into their electronic equipment to charge it."
Rechargeable batteries are claimed to have up to 32 times less impact on the environment than disposable batteries, according to a recent worldwide study by Uniross. The study also claims that rechargeable batteries have 28 times less potential impact on global warming; 30 times less potential impact on air pollution; nine times less potential impact on air acidification; and 12 times less potential impact on water pollution.
