The New Wireless Entertainment Desktop 8000 comes with a wireless keyboard that is an inch thick and has a backlighting feature that automatically adjusts the brightness of the keyboard based on the amount of light in the room. It also sports a navigation pad that allows a user to control the cursor wirelessly, allowing them to watch a movie or navigate through their song list without the need for a remote or mouse.
Microsoft Australia's Product Marketing Manager for Entertainment and Devices Division, Scott Jackson said: "With innovative new products like the Wireless Entertainment Desktop 8000, we are continuing our commitment to developing new hardware products that meet the evolving ways consumers are integrating technology into their lives. No longer are keyboards and mice simply about typing and clicking, they are an extension of the individual's personality."
According to Microsoft, both the mouse and keyboard can be charged in one easy-to-use charging station and will remain fully functioning while charging. The docking station will also have three available Universal Serial Bus (USB) 2.0 ports for additional connectivity.
