Initially ADSL2+ equipment will be deployed at 18 telephone exchanges in around the country, comprising of 22 in NSW, 14 in Victoria, and 10 in Queensland, with a further 46 high-speed DSLAM broadband exchanges to be constructed in due course (visit www.internode.on.n
et/dslam for location information).
The new venture will result in 170 telephone exchanges nationally for the Australian-owned company, which supplies broadband services to home-users and businesses throughout Australia.
"Internode suspended its national broadband rollout program at the start of this year due to the uncertainty created by Fibre to the Node (FTTN) proposals that threatened to strand its investment in broadband equipment installed in telephone exchanges," said the company.
