  New 3G Wireless Hotspot Gadget

By David Richards | Friday | 29/01/2010

ASX-listed NetComm has launched a new gadget claimed to act as a 3G wireless hotspot.

The NetComm t1 Travel Router needs no power or Internet cables and can keep multiple wireless devices connected to 3G networks on the fly in the car, office, hotel room or walking down the street, NetComm says.

It runs off an internal battery, leaving mobile users free of the need to set up cables in temporary situations, the company says.

The $199 pocket-sized t1 is said to allow connection via ADSL, but for true portability, inserting a 3G dongle permits sharing of the connection via Ethernet cable or Wi-Fi at up to 150Mbps.
