  HP Scores Telstra Notebook Gig

By Branko Miletic | Wednesday | 21/05/2008

HP may as well stand for High Profits as we can exclusively report that the free fast broadband notebook Telstra deal will involve new business Next G customers receiving a free HP 6720, which has a street value of just under $1000.

And according to Tim Fussell, director of Techhead, the company who engineered this deal which spent the past two and a half years thrashing out it out with Telstra to accept it, this deal is not just restricted to HP, as although the 6720 will allow new customers who sign up for Next G to pay $0, if customers want a Mac or a Sony Viao, "they will receive a $700 rebate towards the purchase of that model".

Furthermore says Fussell, this is just the beginning; "We expect this rebate to go further and get bigger and bigger in the future".
Telstra will offer a Next G Broadband subscription for $89 per month for 1 Gb and for an extra $10 per month, customers can get a free HP notebook or have $700 go to another notebook, which means, says Fussell that over the 36 month contract, "you a re getting a great notebook for just $10 per month".

The deal, which also involves Harvey Norman, is expected to sell "thousand and thousands of Next G subscriptions every month", according to Fussell.
