Samsung Notebook Lighter Than MacBook Air

By Mike Wheeler | Tuesday | 02/09/2008

At just 1.27kg the new Samsung X360 is lighter than its rival MacBook Air, and looks set to challenge Apple’s attempt to make the MacBook Air the premium notebook of its genre.

With a 13.3-inch screen the unit also features three USB ports, PCI Express Card Slot, VGA, HDMI, RJ45 (Ethernet) and a docking slot. It comes with a 120GB drive, or you can have a 64GB or 128GB solid state drive.

The unit's keyboard has been given silver nano technology in an attempt to cut down on bacteria, and it has a Centrino 2 processor, which is claimed to give the unit up to 50 percent start-up over its predecessor.

Other features of the unit include Wi-Fi, webcam, Bluetooth, and fingerprint reader and a claimed battery life of 10 hours
While not as thin as the MacBook Air, it does have more functions and add-ons than its Apple counterpart, and it is these features where Samsung can try and beat the rival unit.
