Lenovo Sees Red With New Notebook

By Branko Miletic | Monday | 02/06/2008

The colour red signifies luck in Chinese culture and that is exactly what Lenovo is hoping for with its sales of the new IdeaPad U110 consumer notebook PC.

A red cover finished in textured metal gives the IdeaPad U110 notebook an eye-catching design that is aimed at the fashion-conscious user.

Enhanced by a frameless screen and weighing approximately 1.09 kgs (with the four cell battery), the 11-inch wide notebook's infinite-like viewing experience and thin and light frame cater to the highly mobile user.

Equipped with VeriFace Face Recognition, users can quickly and easily log-in without having to remember passwords. Dolby Home Theatre and the MultiMedia Control Centre provide good sound quality while putting multimedia options at the user's fingertips.

The notebook comes with a 120 GB hard drive, up to 3 GB of memory, Intel Centrino processing technology, a built-in camera, WLAN, Ethernet and Bluetooth (select models) connectivity, an external DVD burner and the Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium operating system.

It also comes with an additional battery for up to eight hours of battery life total. Additionally, Lenovo's Active Protection System provides durability by temporarily parking the hard drive if the notebook should fall or drop.

The manufacturer suggested retail price (MSRP) for models of the IdeaPad U110 notebook starts at AUD $2999 (inc. GST).  Models of the Y510 and Y710 notebooks start at $1,299 (inc. GST) and AUD $2,299 (inc. GST) respectively.
