Store And Go Seagate Hard Drives

By Mendelson Tiu | Thursday | 26/07/2007

Not too many years ago, my 30GB portable hard drive was more than enough to satisfy my storage needs. Of course, today, a mere 30GB is not nearly enough for the thousands of songs, photos and HD movies that people are wanting to store on the go. Seagate is one of a few companies pushing for bigger, better, and surprisingly smaller storage devices, with the launch of its FreeAgent portable storage drive range here in Australia.

The range is available in capacities from 80GB to a massive 750GB, the desktop and portable solutions also include a five-year limited warranty and starts at an RRP of $159.

Acc ording to Seagate, FreeAgent Go is a portable storage solution that allows a user's internet favourites, settings and passwords, email, and instant messaging available from any PC. Moreover, files can be synchronised from any PC as all private information is saved and encrypted on the FreeAgent drive and not on the host computer.

The FreeAgent Pro's suite of software tools allows users to automatically synchronise content to a number of other devices, as well as Seagate Internet Drive, a private online storage account. eSATA connectivity means faster data transfer speeds and files can then be accessed from anywhere and shared with family or workmates.
