Yahoo! have acquired most of the Meedio technology and intellectual property, as well as the production team, but did not acquire the products themselves.

Support for the existing products ends today, but existing users of Meedio Pro or Meedio TV  will continue to recieve EPG data until July 1st.

A Meedio press release announcing the sale said: "The sad truth is that we had recently hit a brick wall and did not have the resources to make it flourish. But, Yahoo! has a great team that is just as dedicated and passionate as we are in this space and, of course, they carry the content and might of an early Internet pioneer."

Meedio LLC will change its name to PsyKoh LLC and will form part of Yahoo's Digital Home initiative.

Meedio was founded by Victor Koosh and myHTPC creator Pablo Pissanetzky in 2004, and their software was one of the most popular alternatives to Microsoft XP Media Center Edition.
