He also slammed the Seven Network for revealing on their current affair show Today Tonight a web site that told consumers how to get free TV including Foxtel. The sites www.joost.com and www.tvunetworks.com revealed to consumers how to access TV programs including Foxtel without paying the monthly license fee. Williams said "The Seven network has a long history of losing the plot. To have a programme advocating piracy is nothing short of disgraceful".

Speaking to an American Chamber Of Commerce audience he revealed that Foxtel is also planning to roll out a new cheaper personal video recorder with broadband connectivity, however he did admit that Foxtel would not be delivering broadband until" broadband speeds got faster" which some people in the audience admitted was a slight dig at his 50% shareholder Telstra.
In June Foxtel rolled out their new iQ2 HD PVR which to date has attracted33, 000 users. The new recorder which has improved software is designed to take on the new TiVo PVR from Seven Media which has been described by Seven Media CEO David Leckie as "The world's best personal video recorder".

Williams admitted that during the past few months as consumers battled increased fuel prices and rising mortgages that sales of Foxtel services had flattened.
