Telstra Adds Six Mobiles To Next G

By Mike Wheeler | Thursday | 27/11/2008

Telstra has added six new mobile phones to the Next G range in time for Christmas, giving customers even greater choice when connecting to the company’s national mobile network.

Ross Fielding, Executive Director, Telstra Product Management, said Telstra is continuing to grow its range of Next G handsets to meet the individual needs and requirements of customers. "Telstra now offers customers more than 60 Next G mobile phones and personal digital assistants (PDAs), ensuring everyone can have a solution suited to their communication needs," he said. "From simple talk and text devices to those with cutting-edge entertainment and advanced business functions and others offering superior handheld regional coverage, there is something to suit everyone's needs in our latest offering."

The offerings are:

  • The EasyTouch Discovery phone, ideal for seniors and those seeking a simple, easy-to-use phone. Key features include: easy to read display and simple menu layout, oversized buttons and larger text for easy dialing and a loud speaker phone for clear sound. The EasyTouch Discovery phone has Blue Tick rating.
  • The new Country Phone is smaller and faster than the original but retains its Blue Tick rating so has excellent regional coverage as well as durability. This new handset is ideal for farmers and regional customers with an extendable antenna for enhanced coverage along with Bluetooth compatibility and AGPS.
  • XPERIA X1 by Sony Ericsson is a arc slider phone with a touch screen, panel-based user-interface which allows customers to personalise their device. Customers have a choice of navigation experiences by choosing touch screen, full QWERTY keyboard, four-way key or optical joystick. The X1 runs Windows Mobile 6.1 software, is HSDPA/HSUPA capable and supports WiFi.
  • Nokia's N96 comes with 16 GB built-in memory, GPS satellite navigation, a 5MP camera with autofocus and camcorder function, and 3G video calling. A 2.8-inch enhanced screen means an outstanding music, video and picture experience.
  • Samsung's F480T features a 2.8inch full touch colour screen, a 5MP auto focus camera, video playback, recording and editor. Customers can personalise how they access their favourite functions from the mobile home screen.
