With up to eight hours of talk time, the phones are headset compatible and are equipped with a digital duplex speakerphone on both handset and base, for hands-free use.
Other features include a large backlit LCD, caller name identification, polyphonic ring tones, storage of up to 100 caller ID memories and a baby or room monitor.
The phones can also work as a two-way intercom and for the hard-of-hearing there is an extra loud handset volume control. A ‘do not disturb' function is also in place to automatically send all unwanted incoming calls to voicemail.
Topping the range is the DSS 3455+2 ($249) which includes an integrated digital answering machine and two handsets. An economical alternative is the DSS 3415 ($99) which is a standalone handset and base, but is also capable of running up to four handsets from one base unit should you wish..
