Optus Accuses Telstra Of Crying Wolf

By Branko Miletic | Friday | 29/08/2008

According to an Optus spokesperson, "Telstra is threatened by the fact that Optus' 3G mobile network is rapidly expanding".

Furthermore, Optus took a swipe at the Telstra public statement of Optus never being able to come close to its broadband infrastructure by says that, "While Telstra is busying itself issuing media statements, Optus is getting on with the job of bringing real choice and competition to more Australians".

To back up its claims of having a wide swathe of coverage of this big, brown land, Optus said, "Some towns switched on recently include Finley in NSW, Warragul in Victoria, Goondiwindi in Queensland, Murray Bridge in South Australia and Bunbury in Western Australia.

And to reiterate its claims that it is getting on with the job, Optus says that, "We're on track to reach 96% of the population by end 2008 and 98% by 2009."

In other words, Telstra 1 : Optus 1.
