Speaking to the Wall St Journal, Jobs openly admitted there is a kill switch on the unit that can be triggered by his staff in California, but he claims it is for users' own good. It has been designed in case some unwanted applications should breach protocols and invade your phone.

Now, we know Apple are control freaks, but some think it could still be going a bit far. However, you'll get no apology from Jobs. "We would be irresponsible not to have a lever like that to pull," he said.

This comes just a few days after Apple says they have made over US$60 million on iPhone apps in the month since the new phone was launched. It hasn't all been plain sailing though, with Apple pulling one application called I Am Rich, which cost punters US$999 but all it consisted of was a red flashing light.
