  Telstra Warns Users Of DST Bug

Telstra says that some mobile handsets and personal digital assistants may not correctly display the time this weekend, with daylight saving time set to begin early in NSW, Victoria, ACT, Tasmania and South Australia.

Executive Director, Telstra Product Management, Mr Ross Fielding said, "While Telstra's networks have been adjusted to support the early start to daylight saving, the software on some newer mobile handsets and PDAs may override Telstra's network settings and change the times to reflect the traditional beginning of daylight saving."

He said that some devices may not automatically adjust to daylight saving time over the weekend as it is taking place three weeks early.

To prevent confusion this weekend, Telstra has issued some simple tips to help customers make the transition to daylight saving.

1) Check your device on Sunday morning to ensure the time has updated correctly.
2) If the time has not updated correctly, try turning the device off and on again, and recheck the time after a few minutes.
3) Please check whether your device's Network Time Update setting is active (using your user handbook as necessary). Activate the setting as necessary and turn the device off and on again, rechecking the time after a few minutes.
4) If all else fails, manually adjust the time on the device.
