  Phone-Music Player Combination From Motorola

By Mike Wheeler | Monday | 07/07/2008

Motorola has expanded its ROKR family of music products with the introduction of the Motorokr E8 ARIA edition mobile device, which transforms from phone to music player to imaging device, with the touch of a button.

It can load songs from multiple sources and is compatible with standard connectors, software and accessories. It also features a new music button on the main menu, allowing direct access to the Motorola ARIA chart from your mobile phone, and comes bundled with a bonus content card.

The handset will give you access to a Motorola Artist of the Month page with content and competitions, plus it has a built-in digital music player.

Breakthrough ModeShift technology means the quad-band GPRS/EDGE ROKR E8 ARIA Edition device presents users with only the controls they need, at the time they need them.

Power-on the device and it presents a virtual numbered keypad on the front surface. With a press of the virtual music key, the phone keypad disappears and control keys for the music player - play, pause, fast forward and rewind - appear in its place.

Using vibrating haptics technology, the device provides the tactile feedback providing confirmation they have pressed a virtual key.

This unit also marks the debut of the new FastScroll navigation wheel, a variable-speed touch control that lets consumers scroll through stored content. With a slide of the thumb, the wheel scrolls through your music (music mode), contacts (phone mode), calendar (phone mode), or multimedia (imaging mode) content. Information is viewed on the landscape 2.0-inch QVGA display.
