  Local Reseller Starts Selling iPhones

By Branko Miletic | Tuesday | 17/06/2008

Why wait for the Apple store to open, when a local reseller yesterday has already started taking orders from local buyers.

Online IT reseller Line Link Communications lists on its web site the 2 iPhone versions – 8Gb and 16 Gb and is selling them for $775 and $875 respectively - unlocked of course.

Whilst the stock is still on its way, according to James Robins, director of Line Link, some 200 calls have been received in the past couple of days for registration.

Furthermore notes Robins, "amazingly, we are still getting plenty of calls for the old, non-3G version as well".
In terms of profit margins, Robins is cagey, but admits that "we are happy with the arrangements with our supplier and even though it's not a huge margin, it's much better than it has been in previous years,"

However Robins is unaware what the price will be for the locked, mobile carrier version.

So Melbourne-based Line link Communications has broken the ice and begun selling a product, that soon will be a very prominent item at a number of the biggest and most well known electronics and phone retailers.
