REAL SOUND / AMPLIFIERS

  World Smallest Mobile Amp

By Manisha Kanetkar | Wednesday | 15/08/2007

The new Iasus Mobile Amp Sound System claims to be the world’s smallest and lightest Hi-fi amplifier for portable devices.

Designed for use with laptops, portable games consoles, MP3 players and other mobile devices, the Mobile Amp claims to give the volume a boost of 10dB with less than 0.3 percent distortion. (Though the company warns that if you use it incorrectly, the extra volume could damage your hearing and overload the headphones).

It will also extend the battery life of the portable device itself, by reducing the power load on the source, the company says.

Measuring in at 3.4cm x 5.1cm and weighing at close to 34g including a rechargeable Lithium battery, the amp promises a running time of over 20 hours. A 3.5mm audio jack splitter is also included.
