NetOpt To Distribute UK Digital Radio Brand

By Mike Wheeler | Tuesday | 19/08/2008

With digital radio due to hit the airwaves in January next year, Queensland’s NetOpt has signed an exclusive deal to distribute UK-based Intempo Digital’s brand of products.

Included in the offering are the DAB+ and Internet radio, iPod and MP3 accessories and a Bluetooth range.

The UK digital radio market has been around for the past decade, but has only really taken off in the past two years. Intempo has been at the forefront of the UK's digital explosion, not the least being its iPod speaker loaded with digital radio (DAB+).

Intempo addresses non-technical consumers with high-fashion technology products that focus on sound quality and ease-of-use, rather than complicated technical features and jargon.

The Australian and New Zealand market will be fully supported by NetOpt who will adopt Intempo's style of hands-on customer service. Customers are encouraged to call, email or instant-message the Broken Department where somebody will be on hand to help out with a misbehaving product.

"We know that the Australia and New Zealand market is discerning and not only want products that sound great, but is looking for brands that can combine this with a sense of style and fun" said Gareth Thomas, Product Manager at Intempo.  "I believe that there is a great fit for Intempo products in the ANZ market ready for the DAB+ switch on. I'm also insisting on hosting a celebratory Barbie in honour of our launch! Corked hats will, of course, be obligatory."
