REAL SOUND / SPEAKERS

By Mike Wheeler | Friday | 12/09/2008

Magico V3 speakers are said to be a precision instrument for music reproduction, and at just under $34,000 a pair, you would hope so.

The manufacturer says that the speakers require an extended initial period of normal use during which a noticeable improvement in sound quality will occur. They are at pains to point out that purchasers do not accelerate the break-in process by playing sine waves, tone sweeps, break-in CDs of any sort or other generated signals.

This pair of speakers is for the true audiophile who wants something to complement their high end amp, CD player and/or other audio devices.

Manufactured in America, these speakers will be available in specialist stores throughout Australia. Specifications of the speakers are:

  • Frequency response: (+/-2DB) 28Hz-40KHz (in room)
  • Efficiency (2.8V/1m): 89DB/Watt
  • Nominal Impedance: 4 Ohms
  • Power Handling: 50-300 Watts
  • Dimensions: (HxDxW): 106cm x 38cm x 30.5cm
  • Weight: 72.6

RRP
$33,995
