Tall Boy, Big Boy Of iPod Docking Stations

By Mike Wheeler | Tuesday | 30/09/2008

Affectionately known as the Tall Boy, the TEAC ITB1000 iPod docking station stands more than a metre high, allowing it to be set up virtually anywhere within a room.

There's an AM/FM tuner to listen to favourite radio stations while the auxiliary input allows users to connect a CD player. A video output gives you the option of watching a video from your iPod on your television.

The unit features a great 2.1 Channel Audio System with a power output of 15W x2. While the product may look like an individual speaker, inside can be found two soft dome tweeters, two mid-range speakers and an in-built subwoofer, which adds an additional 36 Watts of power.

In addition, the subwoofer can be turned on or off to the listener's liking, although having listened to the unit without the subwoofer on, we'd suggest you keep it on. A full-function remote control allows the user to manoeuvre through all iPod functions while the sleek front-panel touch sensor controls give alternate ease of operation.

Listeners can also tailor the sound to individual levels with the help of bass and treble controls. This unit also includes a timer and alarm function.

$599
