New Bowers & Wilkins Bookshelf Speakers

By Sarah Falson | Monday | 17/12/2007

British sound engineers, Bowers & Wilkins, have launched a new 2-way bookshelf loudspeaker designed to match the 805S and 800 Series loudspeakers from the brand.

Already popular in the UK, the CM1 ‘mini-monitor' speakers share driver and crossover technology with the 805S and 800 Series models.

Though small, the new speakers offer "colour, energy and beauty" in their sound, and are perfect for users who desire nice aesthetics with a discrete size.

The CM1s use laser-based measuring techniques to optimise linear inductance on the drive units, according to Bowers & Wilkins.

"It is due to this that they are able to draw greater detail from the signal. The crossover uses just a single component for each of its drive units meaning only the slightest of electronic adjustment is needed to balance the system," said a spokesperson for the company.
