"Creative Headphones Well-Worth Your Money"

By Mendelson Tiu | Published:05/02/2008

Over the years, Creative has made a name for itself by producing superb sound cards that never fail to impress. This time, the company attempts to ‘immerse users with audio’ with the launch of its Aurvana Live! headphones. The specs and the price looks reasonable, but will the headphones sound good?

Out of the box, the Aurvana Live headphones come with an extension cable, a 6.3mm gold-plated stereo adaptor, and a microfiber pouch that can be used as a travel pouch or earcup polisher. The headphone is made out of hard plastic and sports a glossy black and silver fascia, with the unit being lightweight and portable.

Creative aims to provide better sound quality by providing an oxygen-free cable and gold-plated 3.5mm connector. The cable is also made out of a tangle-proof material, which for us, is also a good thing.

Performance:

The leatherette earpads and headband was easy to adjust and gave us a snug fit. It was also able to isolate external noise significantly and prevents your music from ‘leaking' out and disturbing people sitting beside you.

The Aurvana Live headphones showed us what it can do as soon as we hooked it up to our audio devices. Tracks sounded full and rich, thanks to its high-performance driver and magnets. Mids and highs were clearly heard in pop and jazz songs, while low frequency sounds can be clearly heard while listening to favourite dance albums. And with the 1.5 metre extension cable, one can hook up the Aurvana Live headphones to any audio and video device and listen comfortably from afar.
