Primarily a 3.2 megapixel digital video and still camera, the DV007 also functions as an MP3 player, voice recorder and webcam. TCL CEO, David Esler, describes it as a "Miniature multimedia entertainment centre that fits in your pocket".
The DV007 is a slim, light-weight device that fits easily into most pockets and comes either red or black colours.
The unit has modest built-in (read emergency) storage. Via a 1 GB SD card it can capture 830 ultra-large still shots or over two hours of video footage.
The fold-away two inch LCD swivels 90 degrees horizontally and has a 270 degree rotation, making it more convenient for low-angle and self-shooting.
Photographers are assisted in getting the picture right the first time thanks to what TCL claims are sophisticated auto-exposure, auto-white balance and red eye reduction features.
The DV007 camera's enhanced video functions include playback of video files in MPEG4 (ASF format).
The camera uses a 4x digital zoom and the zoom operates even while capturing video. Movies are not limited to buffer size, but depend on the available memory.
Bundled software includes interpolation resolution enhancement to 6 megapixels.
The DV007 connects to a display for video and still playback on the big screen.
Cost: $349
