The G1 uses a mirror-less design, allowing
Panasonic to develop a compact and lightweight body. It now utilizes a high-performance 1,440,000-dot-equivalent electronic viewfinder system that claims to reproduces the outstanding characteristics of an optical viewfinder and 100% field of view, like the viewfinders on professional digital SLR cameras.
Because of its new design, Panasonic was able to transform the G1 into a camera that fits comfortably in our hands. It weighs 385 grams (without the lens), measures 124 x 83.6 x 45.2mm, and is made out of hard plastic. The camera is even available in three colours (Red, Blue, and Black), giving users the chance to choose what DSLR they want.
