In fact, one of the most remarkable aspects of Crackdown is the variety of agents on offer that you can choose to play as – and there are some weird and wonderful characters indeed.
The aim of the game is to rid your futuristic city of the nasty elements by any means possible. Sounds dangerous? Of course – expect many of the characters to sport weathered faces, scars, piercings and, of course, tattoos.
The developers have created a number of different characters you can play as, all with different ethnicities. And they've made a point of shunning racial stereotypes wherever possible.
There's the African American agent based on the character Blade from the movie of the same name (he was a vampire hunter, no less). Then there's the Asian agent who gets older rather than bulkier as his power grows and the beefy Scandinavian complete with Mohawk and facepaint.
But it doesn't stop there: there's also a gothic agent (complete with heavy makeup), a Russian, a Maori and even a Thai agent, who also sports warpaint, a Mohawk and a nasty disposition.
With characters this diverse, there isn't much left to say about the gameplay (lots of smashing and trashing). In a nutshell, if you liked Grand Theft Auto, Crackdown is right up your alley.
