Various companies like Asus, Intel, and even HP have released sub-$1,000 notebooks that run on various operating systems, has enough grunt for simple office processes, and has enough storage space to store various files. The HP Mini-Note 2133 is no exception – it runs on Windows Vista, utilises a VIA C7-M ULV processor running at 1.2Ghz (1.6GHz for the $999 model), supports up to 2GB of RAM, and has a storage capacity of up to 160GB.
The notebook makes do without plastic and adds a touch of class by using a tough, magnesium alloy chassis. The D-Sub out port, USB port, microphone jack, and headphone jack can be found on the left side of the notebook while a Kensington port, AC port, Ethernet port, USB port, ExpressCard54 slot, and SD card slot can be found on its right. In addition, a power and a wireless switch are located up front for easy access.
Opening the lid of the Mini-Note reveals a surprisingly ‘big' keyboard for easy and comfortable typing, a touchpad with the mouse buttons situated on both sides, an 8.9-inch WXGA screen, speakers, and a webcamera for video conferencing.
