The new Sydney Wharf property which is a joint venture between Charter Hall, Babcock and Brown and AMP Capital Investments is right opposite one of Sydney's most popular night spots King Street Wharf where restaurants are open until the early hours of the morning and night spots blare music from open windows across the water from the apartments.  Compounding this is the return after night cruises of commercial boats that often carry hundreds of noisy revellers.

With an asking price in excess of $2,500,000 residents will be forced to sleep with windows closed in an effort to beat the music from night clubs, including The Loft and La Cita. Recently the owners of the Loft made application to Sydney Council to extend the trading hours until 3.00 in the morning. 

The Loft and Bungalow 8 have live music and DJ's and attracts hundreds of patrons every night. They operate with open balconies facing 400metres from the front of the new multi million dollar apartments

Belinda Zatta a spokesperson for Charter Hall said "We are aware of the noise problems. We are designing the apartments with double glazing and if residents want fresh air they can open the windows a few millimetres."

When told that noise increases when travelling across water she said "We don't see it as a problem. Most residents will sleep with their windows shut".

Currently residents in the Darling Harbour aand King Street Wharf areas are having to put up with hours of pile driving noise from the building of the Sydney Wharf complex which Sydney Council say is set to be investigated. Businesses have been forced to close windows or not use their balconies because of  noise travelling across the water.

Residents right next door to the complex are also having to put up with viabrations from the pile driving.
