The design for the pieces is based around the Yin Yang concept, the circular symbol that is often depicted by two teardrop shapes interlocked with each other, one white and one black.
It represents the two primal opposing but complementary forces the Chinese believe to be present in everything in nature, such as day/night, masculine/feminine and good/evil.
The Ying Yang collection by Nicolas Thomkins reproduces this visually in the interlocking lounge set, with each half handwoven from Dedon fibre.
Around 8km of fibre is used in the set in total.
The set will be available next month at Domo Collections with an RRP of $14,500.
