  Dinosaur Makes Debut In Domayne

By Mike Wheeler | Monday | 01/09/2008

As reported on Smarthouse website and magazine last month, Pleo the dinosaur has finally been launched in these shores. Available exclusively through Harvey Norman and Domayne stores, the interactive dinosaur that uses 14 motors, 38 sensors, two ARM7 microprocessors is sure to be a hit with kids and parents alike.

Imported by Next Technologies, the unit is also available from their website nexttech.com.au for $449, slightly cheaper than we predicted.

Pleo is capable of learning things, and is virtually a pet. Importer Remo Behdasht doesn't see it as a toy – in fact he said it is to be sold in the technology sections of stores, not the toy section.

Two software updates have already been issued by manufacturer Ugobe to control Pleo's behaviour, but that hasn't stopped more than 30,000 units in the US already.
