New Foldable Solar Panel Charges Mobile Devices

By SmartHouse Team | Thursday | 21/02/2008

Adventurers with a penchant for technology will appreciate the new Solaris foldable solar panels. The panels can be taken to the outback and used to charge battery powered devices such as mobile phones, digital cameras and MP3 players.

The Solaris panels use can be used in a variety of weather conditions including the low-light, the company claims, thanks to the CIGS technology which gives the panel high absorption and the potential to produce significant current outputs while maximising performance and portability.

Aimed at campers, hikers, boating enthusiasts, four-wheel drivers and others who need to use electronic gear in remote areas, the Solaris panels can be rolled up or folded for portability.

The Solaris foldable solar panels come in three sizes: 6-watt (73.6cm x 22.9cm x 201 grams), 12-watt (73.6cm x 43.2cm x 312 grams) or 26-watt (54.6cm x 95.25cm x 794 grams). They range from $299 to $899 and are exclusive to Anaconda stores – and adventure retailer - throughout Australia.
