  Smart Sauna Technology

By Rob Gillam | Thursday | 22/06/2006

Healthmate saunas feature infrared (radiant) sauna technology, which quickly heats a body directly, without having to heat the air between such as with a traditional steam sauna. It claims to be the world’s best-selling infrared sauna and to be used by NASA and the U.S. Airforce.

Healthmate is quick to point out that infrared heat has nothing to do with ultraviolet or atomic radiation, which would provide the opposite of Healthmate saunas' claimed health benefits, including detoxification, weight loss and holistic well being. All models are fitted with a Panasonic CD/tuner.

It claims its sauna's can burn up to 1000 calories in 30 minutes and provide excellent benefits for skin, due to increased blood, and also relief from arthritis, sprains and strains.

Healthmate says Infrared heat rays are most beneficial to the human body and these have been duplicated with the unique incoloy heaters found in its saunas. It claims its saunas have the potential to eliminate up to 20 percent of body toxins at low, comfortable temperatures, whereas traditional saunas which operate at higher temperatures can eliminate three percent of toxins.

The saunas are solidly constructed of spruce or cedar, are easily portable, cost around 50 cents an hour to run and are maintenance free. Push the button, put down your towel and in 15 minutes you'll be doing the human oil change.

The range is priced from $3500 for a single person unit, to $8250 for a five-person unit and all models come with a 15 year warranty.
