A Shop Fitting-Room Mirror That Talks

By Manisha Kanetkar | Tuesday | 08/05/2007

The next time you try on a shirt in a fitting room, you might find the mirror advising you on which are the perfect trousers to match, with the unveiling of new magicmirror technology from Paxar.

When a customer brings an item of clothing with a radio frequency identification tag in front of the magicmirror, it automatically displays information including brand messaging, garment description, size and colour availability, as well as mix-and match guides for accessorising.

If installed in a fitting room, customers can request assistance from a salesperson by touching the magicmirror, without having to leave the room.

The magicmirror was developed by Paxar in partnership with Motorola and Infosys. It will be launched at the Material World show at the Miami Beach Convention Center.
