Pioneer Electronics Australia has not denied that it will open their own retail store in Australia. This week in the USA the Company announced that it plans to open three additional locations this year. The stores, like previous Pioneer stores will showcase and sell the company's full home entertainment line, as well as several products exclusive to Pioneer's direct sale program.

During an interview earlier this year Pioneer Electronics Australia Managing Director  Yasuo Sakuma said that the idea was still being looked at.

The move to Pioneer branded stores in the US was initiated in 2003 said Mr Sakuma. "This was done to help build the Pioneer brand. We are currently reviewing marketing options in Australia and Pioneer branded shops are just one option that we are considering".

"Because of our heritage we are able to deliver high quality vision sound and home entertainment very few vendors can do this based on their heritage and audio market background. Sony can but the likes of Yamaha and Marantz and other premium home theatre players are only in one side of the market" said Mr Sakuma.
