Philips Give Its TVs A Greener Profile

By Mendelson Tiu | Tuesday | 01/07/2008

In a conscious effort to be greener, Philips has announced that its new 2008 range of ‘Made in Europe’ Flat TVs will have an energy standby power of 0.2W and will comply with the new voluntary 10-star energy rating system.

General Manager of Philips Consumer Lifestyle Australia, Matthew Moran said, "Last year Philips announced its EcoVision 4 program which detailed plans to accelerate energy efficiency reductions in our products and operations. In addition, we committed to and believed that a standby power of less than 0.2W was achievable."

"Less than a year later, I am proud to announce that we have accomplished this and will shortly introduce our 2008 Flat TV range which features a low 0.15W standby power - exceeding even our own goals," added Matthew.

This will ensure users of a green TV that not only ‘bring true point of difference to Australians desiring the ultimate in sophisticated style,' but will also reduce electricity bills.
