The new JVC GD-463D10 is currently being showcased at CEDIA and promises Full HD images, a native contrast ratio of 2,000:1, and three HDMI inputs. It is 39mm thin and is equipped with a 3D decoded that is compatible with both side-by-side and line-by-line 3D video input signal formats.

During a live demonstration, JVC played a live concert by U2 and gave us a pair of polarising glasses. We were able to see Bono popping out of the screen as he reached out to the audience, which made our viewing experience better than just watching the concert on a normal plasma/LCD screen. Flickering was absent, with the company saying that it is because of its passive-type circular polarising glasses designed for viewing 3D images.

Expect the GD-463D10 to arrive in the next coming weeks with an expected RRP of $13,000. The popularity of this kind of technology will depend entirely on the volume of 3D content available for it.
