Toshiba Gives Away HD DVD Players

By David Richards | Friday | 21/12/2007

Toshiba who earlier this year took over distribution of their own branded LCD TV and HD DVD players from Mebourne based distributor Castel have had a record year with JB Hi Fi set to take on the panels in 2008. In their latest announcement the Japanese company announced that they will give away free HD DVD players to consumers who buy a Toshiba LCD TV.

If a consumer buys  a 37" X3000A Full HD LCD TV they will receive a bonus HD-E1 HD DVD Player. But if you buy a 42" or 46" or 52" X3000A Full HD LCD TV you receive a bonus HD-EP10 HD DVD Player. The promotional campaign which is effective from the 21st December 2007 will run to 31st January 2008.

The move which was introduced to retailers late is set to drive sales. Toshiba has also announced that it is extending the current HD DVD Player titles redemption and cash back due to the overwhelming success of the redemption rates. E1 - $200 cash back - $399 RRP after cash back and EP10 - $100 cash back - $699 RRP after cash back. This they say  is a milestone in HD player prices in Australia and makes Toshiba the cheapest HD DVD player entry point in the market! This offer starts Boxing Day until March 31 2008.
