  Swedish-Styled TV Mounting Bracket

By Manisha Kanetkar | Monday | 04/09/2006

This new Lava motorised remote controlled LCD or plasma mounting bracket boasts Swedish design and a surprisingly low price tag of $899.

The LVM-601 unit is designed for mounting any flat panel TV ranging between 26 and 50 inches up to a maximum weight of 50 kilos. It can be mounted in ceiling or on a wall, right or left mounted, and can come out to a maximum of 90 degrees.

According to Lava, the bracket is quiet and will take up no more space than a non-motorised wall mount. "It is also designed in Sweden, made in Switzerland from German materials," said Ian Bultitude of Lava's Australian distributor, Crestmore.

The bracket's remote control also has the benefit of being able to control the Lava range of HD ready Chameleon and Khor LCD TVs. According to Bultitude, a 40 inch Chameleon will be available soon, with a 40 inch Chameleon set to cost you about $4500 to $5000. "These will be mid to high end televisions, not aimed at the mass market," Bultitude said.
