Pioneer Fights For Its Life With New Brand Attack

By David Richards | Tuesday | 04/09/2007

During the next few months Pioneer is set to fight for its very life in a TV battle which will see very few plasma manufacturers left standing. In an effort to snare a slim share of the over 50-inch TV market, the Japanese company to set to roll out a massive new marketing campaign at this week's CEDIA Expo in the USA.

The problem for Pioneer in the past has been its marketing and while they have been able top deliver a superior brand they have not been able to cut through in the marketplace. That was until the roll out of their new "Kuro" branding.

Russ Johnston, a Pioneer Electronics marketing and product development senior VP, said the company developed a coordinated advertising campaign with roughly triple the total budget investment spent in the past, including more than double its expenditure on "traditional media."
