TVS & LARGE DISPLAY / REAR PROJECTION

  Sony Reveal Grand Displays

By Ty Pendlebury | Wednesday | 01/02/2006

Sony have announced two new rear-projection screens for its Grand Wega range, a 40-inch and a 50-inch, using 3LCD technology.

The two displays, the 42-inch KF-E42A10 (the ‘E42') and 50-inch KF-E50A10 (the ‘E50'), feature a native 1280 x 760 resolution, HDMI and PC inputs, and a brand new graphical user interface.

"With the advantage of 3LCD technology, customers can be assured of brilliant and true-to-life image quality never seen before," says Koichi Osaki, Group Product Manager for Display. "In addition, these Grand WEGA TVs boast the full range of AV connectivity, High-Definition (HD) capabilities, DVD progression, and standard NTSC/PAL signals for more flexibility and convenience."

Both the E42 and E50 utilise Cinema Black Pro technology which is designed to improve image quality and contrast levels by controlling the models' light output during dark scenes. A circuit simultaneously samples the brightness content of the video signal and adjusts the iris opening to deliver the best possible brightness, contrast and black level to audiences, for unparalleled clarity and quality.

The KF-E42A10 42" retails for $2,999, while the KF-E50A10 50" retails for $3,999, and both are available now.
