TVS & LARGE DISPLAY / REAR PROJECTION

Sagem’s 56 inch DLP Meets Expectations

By Manisha Kanetkar | Monday | 08/05/2006

Though predominantly known for its mobile phones, Sagem has introduced a range of televisions into the Australian market including the new 56 inch rear projection DLP Axium HD-D56B ($4999).

Sagem Australasia's Adrian Tamplin said the model "Has achieved the results expected in the Australian market, however, some retailers have not realised the full potential and consumer satisfaction that can be achieved by DLP technology."

"Our HD-D56B produces a superb image when attached to a HD set top box. Sales staff have a fixation that flat-panel is the only big screen technology, but Sagem offers a quality big screen experience without the price tag," he added.

The French company says the Axium HD-D56B is super slim (44cm in depth), similar to a plasma in its stand, and "Its stylish piano-black edging with silver finish base means it will look great in any room."

This DLP is HD ready with 720p content support. Connectivity includes three SCART ports, S-Video, composite video in, four RCA audio inputs, component video, DVI, VGA, headphone out, line in and two digital audio inputs.

The screen features include a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, 140 degree viewing angle, anti-reflection-coated screen and DCDiTM de-interlacing chip by Faroudja.
