Telstra chief executive David Thodey had flagged the changes at a company investor day in October.
The move is set to put pressure on several ISP's who are currently forging new relationships with the likes of TiVo in an effort to attract content download users.
Telstra Consumer, Acting Group Managing Director, Ms Glenice Maclellan, said the new plans catered for the changing way Australians were using broadband for communication and entertainment at home.
"Gone are the days when broadband was used only to check email or internet surf. Australian families now also use broadband to download videos, play online games, or check social networking sites" she said.
From 1 December 2009, Telstra's new broadband plans will offer:

p; Ten times more data allowance on the entry level plan - BigPond® Elite ADSL or Cable plan offering 2GB of included data for $29.95 per month for 24 months¹ when combined with a Telstra home phone² on a single bill.

p; New high usage plans of 100GB and 200GB to satisfy the growing demand for movie downloads and more family members connecting at the same time.

p; The BigPond® Elite Liberty (12GB) - ADSL 2+ plan for $59.95 per month for 24 months¹ - when combined with a Telstra home phone² on a single bill. This is $20 less per month than our current 12 month broadband pricing.
Customers can also save up to $20 per month by taking up multiple eligible Telstra products on a single bill when they take up 24 broadband month plan³.
