Launched in August the $79 service included a broadband service, unlimited landline calls as well as calls to Optus mobile.

During the past few months Optus has been plagued with network problems with hundreds of businesses threatening to sue the Singapore owned carrier due to hours of downtown across the Optus network.

Optus is also the largest partner in the Terria consortium that trying to convince the Federal Government that they can deliver a new broadband network for Australia.

Dropped after only 4 weeks in the market, Optus said at the Fusion launch that they were set to mount a major attack on the fixed telecommunications market with the launch of Optus Fusion – "Australia's first combined phone and broadband cap".
