  Siemens Optus ADSL Deal

Siemens has scored an exclusive gig with Optus for the supply of ADSL2+ modems. The current installed base for this products for these products tops more than 750,000 users.

 Siemens general manager custom network solutions, David Huck, suggested that rollout of the products in the market would open the door to a range of new applications and services for the consumer market.

"With an ever-increasing number of homes now being connected with high-speed broadband access, the opportunity for implementation of exciting smart home applications is getting closer...Home security, home automation and home entertainment are just some of the applications currently being implemented by Siemens in Australia and other parts of the world - applications which are becoming valuable additional features offered to customers across ADSL2+ networks."
