Apple Launches Extreme Wireless At MacWorld

By | Wednesday | 10/01/2007

Apple has today launched the new AirPort Extreme which it says delivers five times the performance and twice the wireless networking range of the previous AirPort Extreme.

The new AirPort Extreme Base Station is based on the 802.11n specification and uses MIMO smart antennas to allow you to extend a wireless network further and deliver greater data throughput, Apple says.

The device can operate in either the 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz wireless frequencies, and is backward compatible with Macs and PCs using 802.11b/g technologies. It also features a built-in USB port and comes with new AirPort Utility software which is designed to make wireless network set up quick and easy.

RRP: $259
