Is there any stopping the mighty Samsung?

Note 3 'Phablet' Sells 5M

Note 3 is selling like hot cakes, selling 5 million in just month, Samsung Mobile CEO told Korean news outlet Hankooki.

Samsung Note 3, its  5.7" Super AMOLED phablet with quad-core processor, was released in Oz on Oct 3, alongside its Galaxy Gear Smartwatch, which works with Note 3 and S4.

This figure is better than its predecessors - Galaxy Note 2 took two months to hit 5 million mark, while the first Galaxy Note took 5 months. Clearly, the trend for bigger phones or 'phablet, is catching on.

Note 3 is also popular at Dick Smith-owned fashtronics store, Move, its Director told CN, as its Galaxy Gear.

The worlds largest phone maker Samsung captured a "record" 29 percent share of the global phone market in q3,   driven by demand for Note 3 and mass-market phones including Galaxy Y, says analysts.

The mobile maker last week confirmed it sold 40 million Galaxy S4's, available since earlier this year.

However, reports in the US suggest many consumers are returning their Gear watches, with 30% return rate in BestBuy stores, reports Geek.com.

However,  local telcos were not willing to comment on demand for Gear, RRP $369, when contacted by CN.
