Retailer Battle For Mums Love

By Oonagh Reidy | Friday | 10/05/2013

Mamma mia! Retailers are going all out on deals for Mother's Day.

The Good Guys are offering $2 delivery on small appliances and accessories for online orders this weekend, ahead of Mothers Day on Sunday.

Items on offer include Electrolux A Modo Mio Premium Silver coffee maker for $229, Braun Silk Epil 7 hair remover for $189, and a 2.0L Breville Kitchen Food Processor.

It is even giving away a Canningvale bathrobe for Mum with some items purchased including vacuums, small appliances, and microwaves.

JB Hi-Fi is also offering 20% off Apple computers (iPad anyone?), Acer tablets and is selling Sony Wi-Fi Touch Reader -  for $99, Kobo ereader for a cheap $49, and has 20% off Blu Ray/DVDs including Baz Luhrmann DVDs.

Meanwhile, Dick Smith is doing Mothers Day too, promoting Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 for $449 as the perfect Mother Day gift on its website, as well as Amazon Kindle for $229, hairdryers for $24.95 and $79 digital photo frames.

It will even throw in a Bluetooth Retro Phone worth $50 on all purchases over $150.

Panasonic and Samsung too are all battling it out for the Mother Day consumers this weekend ahead of Sunday.

Panasonic are flogging their bread maker as the "ideal" gift for Mum, while Samsung  are positioning their Galaxy WB250F Smart Camera costing $279 and S4 "life companion" smartphone as "Mum's best friend this Mother's Day."

"Beyond a sleek design, larger screen size and battery, the GALAXY S 4 boasts innovative new features including a 13 megapixel rear camera that allows simultaneous use of both front and rear cameras; a 'Story Album' function where photos are automatically sorted; and 'S Health' software to monitor your health conditions using food and exercise diary and sleep monitor to stay fit and healthy."
