Silent Arch: Panasonic Invades With 8KG Smart Washer $1149

By Oonagh Reidy | Wednesday | 21/09/2011

Pana is ramping up its home goods menu with an energy saving 8KG washing machine with ECONAVI technology.

The NA-148VG3WAU can save up to 50% on power and 30% water compared to conventional models, thanks to ECONAVI and its innovative 3D sensor, which precisely measures the amount of clothing inside the new 'Matrix' drum and adapts the energy needed for each wash, reducing the amount of water used.

This smart machine even has 'baby' and 'skin care' settings as well as a super handy rapid 15 minute wash. It even features an inbuilt 'Auto Power Off' function that turns the power off when the washing program is complete.

Even before enabling the ECONAVI mode, the 8kg washing machine is the most energy efficient in its class.

It is also the most water efficient in its class, boasting a 4.5 star rating. The HydroActive water supply system uses five multi-directional showers which rapidly deliver water to quickly dissolve the detergent into the wash.

The NA-148VG3WAU with a silent arch design "has top-loader capacity at front loader efficiency" with the 340mm wide opening making it easy to load and unload, say Panasonic.

The smart design integrated into the sides of the washer absorbs noise created during the wash cycle for discreet operation.

The newly-designed 'Matrix' interior drum has dimple-shaped water spouts, with fewer holes and less bumps than a conventional drum, preventing clothes from catching.

"This is the second model in an exciting new category for Panasonic and signals a significant development in product direction," said Mathew Harrison, Pansonic Home Environment.

"This model offers consumers smart features that not only take the burden out of saving energy but can deliver energy savings of up to 50 per cent on power and 30 per cent on water while washing compared with a non-ECONAVI model", he added.

The NA-148VG3WAU has a seven year warranty (two years on parts and labour and an additional five years on the motor) with an RRP of $1,149.
