Panasonic Australia today announced a new Full HD camcorder range for 2014, with an all-new lens, sensor and engine, but also doubles as a baby monitor.

The five new camcorders available in April, have new Crystal Engine Pro+ that provides fast image processing and enhanced noise reduction, and four-drive lens system controlled by individual motors.

All camcorders offer Full HD video recording, and there's creative control modes including Miniature Effect, 8mm Movie, Silent Movie and Time Lapse Recording.

The 2014 models start from $299 for HC-V130 to $1199 for the flagship HC-W850M, which can capture two scenes simultaneously using a secondary camera located on the side of the LCD screen.

The HC-W850M and HC-V750M models both feature Full HD Slow Motion Video capabilities with smooth playback at 200fps.

Other new features include: twin recording, Full HD Slow Motion Video (W850M, V750M) and the camcorders doubles as a Baby Monitor, keeping a virtual eye on a child in another room.

All the 2014 line up have have WiFi  to share videos via Facebook and Instagram to a smartphone, using NFC (Near Field Communication). Wi-Fi can also be used to live-stream events on USTREAM.

The new cams are also mobile friendly - smartphones and tablets can be used as a live-view remote controller for operating the camcorder from a distance.

Hey Baby

The baby monitor feature can send notifications to a smartphone or tablet when baby cries, and it even lets users speak to their baby using the mobile or tablet's microphone.

Pan Tilt Cradle (sold separately) detects a moving subject when connected to a compatible Panasonic WiFi camcorder and automatically tracks the subject along a horizontal movement range of 180 degrees.
